I must apologize for not getting this up sooner, but my iMac computer died this weekend … along with my cell phone, AND my car went to the shop.  Yep, all in the same weekend.  Sounds fun, huh?!

Anyway, Miss Tori DID draw a winner Monday evening, and it’s Mountain Woman!  Please email me your address (suzgarten@yahoo.com) and I’ll get your sample pack out sometime next week.

Thank you to everyone who entered by leaving a comment. I wish I could send every single one of you some samples for your pups!  :)   It’s just that danged postage cost that gets me everytime.

We’ve been busy baking cheesers and p’nut butter luv treats this past weekend.  I’ve been waiting on a mint delivery – it came yesterday and I’m not sure it’s going to fulfill my bulk needs, so I’ll keep researching that item.

In the meantime, if you want treats for the holidays, be sure to get your orders in soon!!  And from all of us here at the Lazy G, stay warm and have a wonderful week.

Samples

A great way to try out all 4 flavors!

Here’s a great way to let your pup try all 4 varieties – Trixie Lou’s Cheesers, Ringo’s P’Nut Butter Luv, Tori’s Breath Mints and Barnyard Pals.  You’ll receive a generous amount of each flavor – 4 bags to a box.  This sample pack also makes a great gift!

Uh-oh.  I think my furry kids are eyeballing these samples as I type…

I’ll be a madwoman these next few weekends, baking dog treats round-the-clock to ensure I get everything shipped on a timely basis.  If you’d like to order treats as gifts, please do so by December 18th.  The last shipments will go out on Monday Dec. 21, priority mail. I can ship anywhere in the U.S.  When you pay for the treats via Paypal, you’ll be able to input any shipping address.  You can also add any special notes or instructions to me.

If you live locally, just email your order to me ~ suzgarten@yahoo.com.  No need to pay for shipping.

And here’s another lil contest…. if you’d like to win a sample pack, just leave a comment on this post.  I’ll draw a name this weekend and ship your samples to you next week.  Just don’t tell your furry friend if you win.  He might not leave the window, watching for the postman!

Yet to come… one more page for the Barnyard Pals.  I’ll be baking a batch this weekend, and get a page up soon so everyone can purchase them.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who has already purchased my dog treats.
You’ve made Ringo, Trixie and Tori very proud and excited pups.  :-)
The Dog Listener

Jan Fennell's remarkable gifts have earned her the nickname "the dog whisperer".

Update: Thanks to Rose for guessing my dogs’ names first!  Stay tuned… I have more great dog training books so you will have more opportunities to win!

This giveaway is quite simple.  The first person who can tell me the names of our three dogs will win this book!

I love this book.  I bought it, along with several other positive dog training books, several years ago.  Now it’s time to pay it forward, and pass on a great book to someone else who needs it.  Check out the reviews on Amazon – this book gets very high marks from its audience.

Said one reader:
I purchased this book years ago after I got my first dog Shady! A smart, loving (but very naughty) border collie that would only listen when it suited him. After an incident (and there were many!) where he broke out the window in the back of a parked pick up truck to chase a squirrel and was hit by a passing car, I knew I had to get control of the situation. I borrowed every book on dog training and behavior I could from the library and this was THE ONE! Simple and effective. I purchased two copies so that I could reference back to it with my other dogs and one to lend to people. It is easy to suit to individual needs. This book will not fix every behavior issue, certain breeds and personalities have quirks that you have to adjust to, but it will solve enough that you can appreciate your dog’s individuality. Read it and give it a try~!

So, tell me my dogs’ names, and add this book to your library!

New, smaller Cheeser treats and new sample bag

The girls and I made more Cheesers today, except we used a smaller bone cut-out.  Some folks had mentioned to me that they were breaking their cheesers in half for their “leetle” dogs, so I decided we should have a smaller size for those pups with tiny  mouths.  My furry kids really don’t care what size they are — they love them big or small!  They smell so good while they are cooking in the oven – it’s no wonder all 3 of our pupsters are hangin’ in the kitchen the whole time.

As you can see in the photos, I’ve also designed a Lazy G Ranch label for the small sample bags of treats and they are festively tied with ribbons.  Each sample bag holds 8-15 treats (depending on treat size).  You get 4 bags in your sample pack -  the Cheesers, P’Nut Butter Luv, Tori’s Breath Mints, and the Barnyard Pals.  I’ll be adding pages for the Barnyard Pals (smaller treats) and the sample packs later this week.

The sample packs make wonderful gifts.  If you want to purchase a sample pack before the page is up, just zap me an email and let me know. Or, my other blog currently has a link to purchase the sample packs.  The photo needs updating, which is why I don’t have a page here yet.  The problem – I’m currently out of Barnyard Pals.  We need to make a fresh batch!  And we shall, later this week.

A big thanks to Linda of Crone and Bear It and Rose, one of my new friends on Facebook, for purchasing treats this weekend.  You are both the very first customers of this website, and the girls and Ringo all send slobbers and wags to both of you!

I  just knew I HAD to add breath busters to our available treat varieties.  Ringo and Trixie don’t really need them, but Tori… oh my, that girl needs a breath mint every single day!  I don’t know why some dogs seem to have worse breath than others.  I mean, Trixie and Tori eat the same food, so obviously that isn’t the cause.  I guess it’s just in Miss Tori’s genes to have atrocious breath.

And so today we made the classic breath buster biscuit, also known as dragon slayers, or in this case, Tori’s Breath Mints!  They were a hit with all 3 dogs, so I’ll be adding another page here to make this available to everyone else.

A few people have asked what the story is behind our new name, The Lazy G Ranch.  It’s really quite simple.

Lazy = the dogs.    G = Garten. (our last name)   and Ranch = 26 acres. (our property)

So you see, I wasn’t inferring that us two-leggers are lazy, au contraire!  It would be the four-leggers who are lazy, although I am sure they might argue that point.

I hope everyone had a Happy Saturday!  :-)

Tori's Breath Mints

Minty fresh yumminess!

Howdy!

Welcome to the Lazy G Ranch, a new enterprise featuring homemade, organic dog treats.  No wholewheat, no corn, no soy is used – only fresh organic flours and wholesome ingredients that are good for your pupsters.  Just watch those tails wag as you give them a Cheeser treat!

We have 3 testers here ~ Trixie Lou, Tori Mae, and Ringo.  Tori Mae is the pickiest of the bunch, and if she doesn’t like a treat, then it doesn’t get added to the roster!  When we made our pumpkin treats, Tori made it abundantly clear that these were not going to be acceptable.  It’s a good thing we have Tori as one of our testers because Ms. Trixie Lou would put her paw of approval on every treat.  I think we all know one of those dawgs.   :)

Ringo makes it a habit to supervise when I’m in the kitchen baking treats.  Being a chocolate lab and the recumbent ranch dog, he takes his job seriously to ensure that the treats you get are the freshest and the highest quality.

We’re excited to be able to offer our favorite treats to you, and we hope you enjoy them.  Feel free to leave any comments here, and we’ll try to blog as often as we can to let you know what’s new at the Lazy G.

Ringo

Watch out. This ranch dog takes his job seriously.
